For unto us a child is born

A few weeks ago, perhaps against better judgment, I took the kids to our church to see the Florida Orchestra perform George Frideric Handel's, "The Messiah", which is no less than 2.5 hours long. Lynn was away on business so our neighbor came to help (God bless her). We made it to intermission. Long enough to hear one of my favorite pieces in the opus, "Unto Us A Child Is Born," which quotes Isaiah 9:6, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." I have been pondering the "government" part ever since - as it seems our government is run by anyone but Jesus. I have seen it also translated as "sovereignty", meaning supreme power or authority. Fast forward a few thousand years to Jesus himself. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) I rejoice that God loves us enough to finish this story. Sovereignty does not rest on the shoulders of ______ (insert name, company, global governing body) because Jesus overcame the world. Merry Christmas, friends.

Training our dairy cow on lead rope

Training a cow was never something I expected to do - because I don’t know the first thing about it! But God blessed us with Maisy who is a little “green” as they say. In this video, I’m working to get a lead rope hooked to her halter so I can teach her to walk with me. I’m confident we’ll turn her into the best milking cow there ever was - might take a decade, but we’ll get there!

If you happen to use Comcast internet. And, you do not have to use their hardware. If you hold out in a talk with them. They'll give you $1 off/month. Just make sure you are clear with them about it, if you prefer using your own hardware. You don't want them to give you a "checkbox page" with the hardware mentioned. They can change it to a page without that.

I got changed over last night. The service goes down for about 5 minutes in change over.

Amazon Is on the Cusp of Using More Robots Than Humans in Its Warehouses
https://archive.ph/sdNPT

"The automation of http://Amazon.com facilities is approaching a new milestone: There will soon be as many robots as humans.
The e-commerce giant, which has spent years automating tasks previously done by humans in its facilities, has deployed more than one million robots in those workplaces, Amazon said. That is the most it has ever had and near the count of human workers at the facilities.
...
Warehouse Worker Resource Center, a nonprofit that advocates on the behalf of warehouse employees, said robotics haven’t changed jobs as much in smaller Amazon sites as in large fulfillment centers to date.
Yet Kaoosji expressed concern about the longer-term impact on employment. The company’s “dream is to have significant reduction of workforce in high-density facilities,” he said."
