Our mini Nubian milk goat, Sundae, gave birth to a boy and girl while we were gone yesterday morning. We've been on baby watch for days and she is such a stinker for having them right after we left for a couple hours! It would be easy to think Sassy’s behavior is accidental but I’ve watched her for 33-years now and she is excellent at sending messages in her own language. The other day I cleaned the goat stalls and put brand new shaving in them - only to have Sassy go right into one of them and lay a massive poop. @AlisonMorrow My Easter egger hen has only sporadically been laying the last year or so. I think she’s 4or 5yrs old. Also during the last year or so, she’s become quite the dominant bitch where she’s mounting the other girls. I’ve scolded her many times telling her she’s not a cock. Well this morning my husband and I are out picking blackberries near the roost and hear a cock crowing. We don’t have a cock. Can you guess who it was??? Yep, my Easter egger apparently has a rare condition where her ovary has gone caput and testosterone is taking over. She doesn’t have any spurs but I haven’t fully examined her as she’s being reclusive and hanging out on a high bar.
