Lt. Col. Jerry Lohr of the St. Louis County PD was nicknamed “Officer Friendly” in the weeks of protests and riots after the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. Lt. Col. Lohr invited officers to join him and not wear riot gear the night after 2 officers were shot, as protests erupted once again. He is my guest tomorrow. We went to a kid rodeo today and saw mutton bustin’ for the first time. If you’re not familiar, it’s like bull riding but on a sheep and meant for little kids to learn. The sheep just haul tail as fast as they can. Most kids fall off in less than a second or two. This kid was not letting his sheep get off so easy.
It’s that time of year again when my neighbors stare at me like I’m totally insane (wait that’s everyday) while I take an early morning dip in the cow water trough.
