Mari & Yoel return to answer criticism

Mari and Yoel have agreed to return for a video responding to criticism that they are pushing CIA propaganda, that the USA is the real problem not their concerns about the Cuban government, and that they’re repeating what Jen Psaki would say. If you have any questions, please leave them here before 830A PST tomorrow (Sunday).

Our new livestock survived 3 days

Our friends at The Wagon farm (who currently have Maisy cow with their bull at Love Camp) gifted us some of their worms to start our own worm farm. We were all very excited about all of the nutritious soil we’d soon have for the garden. That is, until rats decimated our new friends. 😫 I had no idea worms would be so vulnerable to rodents!

We will try again with a more secure container. There is always something trying to eat on this farm - some we like, some not so much.

Good thing I have the energy to start over again many times, which is required on any farm I suppose. We take the fermented cod liver/concentrated butter oil blend from Green Pasture, which is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, & K. Ditch the cheap fish oil that does nothing. Use promo code “ALISON” at checkout for 10% off. https://greenpasture.org/

Our mini dairy cow heads to VBS (vacation bull school)

While kids are at vacation Bible school right now, our cows are both at vacation bull school, which I’ve also been calling Love Camp.

Mommy Cow, our angus, has been with an angus bull for almost 6-weeks and now Maisy, our mini Jersey/Dexter cross, is with a mini Jersey bull.

By the grace of God (and I truly mean that) I met another mom at church who happened to mention their family just got into farming and they bought an A2 Jersey bull. After two unsuccessful artificial insemination attempts using mini Jersey bull semen, I have been looking for the “real deal”. It is very hard to find a mini Jersey bull “for rent” - most people want to sell you the bull but I don’t want one here for safety reasons.

We had considered a (very cute) Highland bull but hadn’t taken Maisy there yet. Then, boom! The perfect bull just appears 30 minutes down the road. If all goes well, we should have a calf and fresh milk next Spring!

How long was this on my desk?

I was sitting down to do some work at my desk/podcast studio and found a duck egg on it. I have no clue how it got there, when, or why it was there. I’m pretty sure the duck didn’t lay it there. But who knows. Anything is possible on this farm. I’ve seen weirder things and Lily is known to bring animals inside. 🤔

Eggs are a staple for our health. So is the fermented cod liver/butter oil from https://greenpasture.org/ which is packed with nutrition for your brain, joint, muscle, immune and gut. Use promo code “ALISON” at checkout for 10% off. Have a great weekend!
