"18 U.S.C. 1038 makes it a crime to provide false or misleading information relating to many substances, including biological hazards, and to conduct hoaxes. The law specifically excludes authorized investigative, protective, or intelligence activities of a law enforcement agency." Someone emailed me this after Tik Tok removed a comment and cited it as "illegal". It appears this was added to law in 2004 following changes to intelligence agency protocol after 9-11. What do you think? https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCODE-2009-title18/pdf/USCODE-2009-title18-partI-chap47-sec1038.pdf
Thanks for your feedback in yesterday's editorial board meeting. I ruminated on the topic and this is what I realized Russell Brand got the most wrong....
Just got back from butchering chickens. I watched the Russel Brand “censored” videos on the way (YouTube removed one of his videos for saying something positive about ivermectin). I’d like your feedback on it all as I prepare a video.
Sharing this comment on the Russell Brand video to show two things I discuss regularly: hero worship on the internet & how that leads to a similar environment as the one I left in corporate news. When audiences seek the messenger over the messages, emotionally attaching to a personality rather than digesting information with skepticism regardless of who’s saying it, it creates similar bias echo chambers where creators simply stick to safe topics, applauding their audience’s assumed heroes and attacking obvious villains.
When your 2-year old helps butcher chickens. 😬 Jack stayed far away so as not to be confused for poultry as well…But hey, now we have a freezer stocked with the fruits of our friends’ labor.
Comedian and homesteader Owen Benjamin is my guest Monday. He has been banned from most Big Tech platforms but was also banned by Rokfin a couple months ago. The link to my interview with Rokfin's founder is below. Owen first made his "mark" on the censorship scene when his talent agency dropped him for criticizing gender reassignment work on children. This was several years ago before it was the hotly debated topic it is today. Any questions for Owen?
