Trump’s executive order protecting glyphosate (which RFK Jr supports) is such a perfect example of how the American political system works, and one of the main reasons I became a farmer. Bayer (which acquired Monsanto in 2018) is getting sued into oblivion over claims glyphosate causes cancer, to the extent they’re paying out billions in losses and facing the real possibility of going bankrupt. Then all of a sudden, states like Georgia pass laws protecting glyphosate manufacturers from liability and the President passes a similar executive order in the name of national defense. Is this timing a coincidence? The big corporations in this country have direct influence on politicians in a way the average American can never compete - that is, unless we leave their system. We must go direct with farmers who use the kind of methods we want for our dinner. Even if we ban glyphosate, there are plenty of worse (yes, hard to believe!) chemicals waiting to take its place. There is no way out of this other than consumers deciding we want change and pursuing it through relationships with our neighbors who produce healthy food. We are responsible for the current system because we abdicated our role in knowing and caring about our food. Why are we surprised we ended up sick? It’s time to stop waiting for the government to fix this for us. We can do this. There has never been a better time. I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
Who is ready for Thanksgiving dinner?? I am 45 and never knew you could just wear goggles while cutting onions. Big thanks to my six-year-old who figured it all out on her own.
I protect my teeth so I can eat all that pumpkin pie by taking a daily dose of the fermented cod liver /concentrated butter oil from @greenpastureproducts - I used to get chronic cavities and started taking this about 15 years ago. Long before I changed my diet. It swiftly ended my problem. You get 10% off with promo code “ALISON” at check out. https://greenpasture.org/
Sassy takes smaller bites now that she is 33 but she still has all her teeth! Sundae (our milk goat) only has teeth on the bottom jaw (normal for goats) so she typically loses the apple eating contest.
Speaking of teeth, I used to get cavities all the time. I was likely vitamin D deficient. But I may have been vitamin K deficient as well. Did you know that you need vitamin K2 to absorb vitamin D3 into your bones? I started taking the fermented cod liver/concentrated butter oil from @greenpastureproducts and my problem swiftly ended. That was 15 years ago but I still take it today. You get 10% off with promo code “ALISON” at check out. https://greenpasture.org/
Carla the miracle chicken was crafting up a storm this morning while also responsibly using the paper towel port-a-potty. We were using a diaper but her tail feathers got in the way.
We keep our brains curious and creative for craft time by ensuring we get enough Omega 3s as well as vitamins A, D & K. The fermented cod liver/concentrated butter oil from @greenpastureproducts is a great food based source of the above, and ended my chronic cavity battle. Sharyl Attkisson, one of my favorite journalists who is still in mainstream media, is returning to my show tomorrow (Thursday). She recently released this video about cell towers, which caught my eye given my recent cell tower journey. Big thanks to a Local’s subscriber for alerting me to it. Any questions for Sharyl, please leave below in comments. We will be live at 12:30P ET.
