Our little buckling, BOGO, went off to his new home today. You may remember we got his mom, Margarita, as a āfat and maybe pregnant, but probably just fatā doe last year. Then we came home one night to a newborn. Bogo (Buy One Get One) is the first goat weāve sold since weāve been in the goat ābusinessā (business is probably a stretch, letās say, gameā¦) so it was bittersweet but heās going to a great new home with a new girlfriend his age - Iām sure theyāll be busy in no time!
One of the eggs in the nesting box a few days ago looked exactly like it was wearing a little hat. After a couple days sitting in a carton, the āhat seamā dissolved, and you could open the top of the egg. Very odd! Anybody have an idea why this happened?
I took the kids to Adventure Island yesterday for the last weekend before it closes for the season. They close because no one comes swimming because itās ātoo coldā. Yesterday, the high was 85 degrees and the park was almost completely empty. I canāt judge. I love the sunshine too. But I do love a good cold plunge.
We are back to gardening after a year off. The reason? Paralysis by analysis is the homesteaderās worst enemy. So far the best adventures weāve had started small with no expectations but curiosity.
