One year ago we brought home a young buck with horns barely a couple inches long and balls comprising about 86% of his body weight. We weren’t sure he would accomplish his job, but now this father of one is an accomplished and grown man. Though he certainly has a mind of his own, we love Peter and his weird ways!
One of the eggs in the nesting box a few days ago looked exactly like it was wearing a little hat. After a couple days sitting in a carton, the “hat seam” dissolved, and you could open the top of the egg. Very odd! Anybody have an idea why this happened?
I took the kids to Adventure Island yesterday for the last weekend before it closes for the season. They close because no one comes swimming because it’s “too cold”. Yesterday, the high was 85 degrees and the park was almost completely empty. I can’t judge. I love the sunshine too. But I do love a good cold plunge.
We are back to gardening after a year off. The reason? Paralysis by analysis is the homesteader’s worst enemy. So far the best adventures we’ve had started small with no expectations but curiosity.
