Alex Miller is a 7th generation farmer and heads Lick Skillet Farm, a regenerative farm in East Tennessee (coincidentally just outside my old TV news market of Knoxville - so he watches my WBIR co-workers). He farms the land his grandfather bought 100 years ago. He gave a presentation at Wise Traditions about how food prices may be going up, but the average farmer is getting paid the same or less due to the corporatization of food. He has a top 3 "TO DO" list for consumers who want to save small farms.

One of the eggs in the nesting box a few days ago looked exactly like it was wearing a little hat. After a couple days sitting in a carton, the “hat seam” dissolved, and you could open the top of the egg. Very odd! Anybody have an idea why this happened?
I took the kids to Adventure Island yesterday for the last weekend before it closes for the season. They close because no one comes swimming because it’s “too cold”. Yesterday, the high was 85 degrees and the park was almost completely empty. I can’t judge. I love the sunshine too. But I do love a good cold plunge.
