When we got our first set of chicks two years ago, the plan was pretty boring. Gather our own eggs right outside the house and never run out. Little did I know that chickens are wonderful babysitters, dress-up partners, art class teachers, and non-stop entertainment! We love the eggs, but as a parent of young kids, I love how much learning our kids do with chickens - while also having a lot of fun!
It does take a creative brain to think up all the ways to play with a chicken - which is why the omega 3s in Green Pastureās fermented cod liver/butter oil blend will ramp up your chicken playtime ideas! I have been taking it for 15 years and I credit it with helping me end a chronic battle with cavities. Itās got vitamins that are important for brain, gut, hormonal and bone health - and itās a food not a supplement. Ditch the cheap fish oils and try it. We celebrated Lilyās 6th birthday recently. (Yes SIX!! If youāve been part of this community since I was pregnant with her, itās surreal how fast it has flown by!) So, what do you get your daughter when her best friend is a chicken named Carla? A chicken purse carrier of course. Now they can go on all kinds of adventures together. I hope the downtown sidewalks are ready. Honestly, I kind of think Carla likes it?!
By the way, both of my kids take the fermented cod liver/butter oil from https://www.greenpasture.org/ ā Itās food, not a supplement, thatās packed with vitamins A, D & K in highly absorbable form that your body will recognize. I battled chronic cavities before taking this, and now have check-ups where the dentist remarks at the health of my teeth and gums. This happened even before I cut sugar and ultra-processed foods. The answer is 385.6 gallons of milk. That's how much milk we'd have to drink (at $13 a gallon) to make up for the $5,000 we have spent on our dairy cow - who has yet to produce a single drop. This is a PSA video for anyone who goes on social media and sees the idyllic apron-clad milkmaid harvesting her "free" milk for cream, butter, yogurt and more - then thinks, I want a dairy cow! It's hard work, there are no days off, and in the end, it's a financial wash (or drain). That said, if you want to do it because you enjoy a challenge, you want to raise your kids on a farm, you value knowing where your food comes from - these are great reasons. Leave the dreams of "free milk" at the barn door.
We love raw milk because it's a superfood with all the digestive enzymes left in tact. It's full of Vitamin K which is required for your bones to absorb Vitamin D. This is one reason we all take the fermented cod liver/butter oil from https://www.greenpasture.org/. It's packed with vitamins A, D & K...
Hope everyoneās weekend is going well. I am planning to do the āFarm Reportā again tomorrow. I would love your submissions for headlines we should discuss. I am trying to keep it focused on Farming, Health and Food. Hereās one I found. Does anyone see any reference to how stupid people are for using this seasoning - like how raw milk is treated? I plan to go live at 3 PM ET. See you then!
