FULL LIVESTREAM: Will Texans face heat blackouts after winter power outages? || Josiah Neely

Recently amid heat waves, ERCOT, the power grid operator in Texas, asked residents to reduce power usage. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas set a new unofficial peak record of demand, according to a spokesperson. Total power demand reached 78.3 gigawatts. Though warnings of rolling blackouts circulated, Texas has avoided them for now. Last winter, the state suffered days of power outages with freezing temperatures. Josiah Neely is a Texas-based Senior Fellow specializing in energy at R Street Institute.
